Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk on the Decks at Busy-P's B-Day Party, Dim Mak Tuesdays at Cinespace |

Thomas Bangalter Gets Busy-P at Dim Mak PartyThe blogosphere has been birthing a gazillion tiny kittens over the past day, with photos and video of a rare DJ ‘set’ by Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk without helmet. We put set in inverted commas as he actually only played three songs… but no one seems to care because, like, you could totally see his face. Bangalter reared his head at Steve Aoki’s notorious Tuesday club night Dim Mak in Los Angeles earlier this week, stopping by to help celebrate ex-manager Busy P’s birthday with the Ed Banger crew. SebastiAn, SoMe, Gaspard from Justice and DJ Mehdi were all on hand, but reports indicate the crowd really lost their shit when Bangalter stepped up for an impromptu go at the turntables. Video and more after the jump.. Trainspotters in the crowd were quick to jump on Twitter, letting everyone who wasn’t at Cinespace Tuesdays know what they were missing out on… Bangalter’s epic three-song journey included Daft Punk’s own techno stomper Rollin’ & Scratchin’, Signatune from DJ Mehdi (which he features on), and finally Prince’s Raspberry Beret. Perhaps more interesting than a photo of Bangalter without his iconic robot disguise (after all, you only have to Google image search his name to see what he looks like…) is the fact that Busy P, in most photos that have appeared online, is holding what looks to be a very pretty red clutch purse. The night ended in tears, however, with a brawl erupting in the club. Details on exactly what went down – and who was involved – are scant… however photos of Bangalter with his fists raised have surfaced, along with some of Busy P wading into the scrum. What a party.
