ATFC Essential Mix

Its Essential ATFC

Defected and Toolroom Records regular ATFC has been on fire lately, mixing three Defected compilations last year, working in plenty of remixes, and already talking about his 2010 productions.

It appears this veteran house producer is riding the crest of this wave of success, as we find him dishing out a ‘floor-filling marriage of gritty electro and vocal house in this Essential Mix.

Recently crowned Beatportal house artist of the year, ATFC showcases exactly why he earned that title in this week’s offerings, with tracks from Bob Sinclar, Masters At Work, Bart B More and Mark Knight all whipped up in two hours of big room sound.

Click here to listen to ATFC’s Essential Mix on Radio 1 (only active until 7th February).

Fischerspooner Are Back With a Little Entertainment

News

Fischerspooner Entertainment

Fischerspooner emerge the Entertainment

Warren Fisher and Casey Spooner, Fischerspooner are back yet again with their third full-length titled Entertainment.

After their Odyssey album flopped commercially, the duo were dropped from EMI and now reside on the more independently minded Lo Recordings, who will release Entertainment later in the year. The forthcoming album features both of the singles that they put out on the Kitsuné label last year, alongside eight brand new tracks.

As you may expect, 'Entertainment' still has that electro-clash sound that they helped bring into the limelight, but their music seems much more polished this time around. This may be due to Jeff Saltzman (who has previously produced acts like The Killers and Black Keys) is on knob twiddling duties, whilst Steve Stein (AKA Steinski) also helps out on some aspects of the sound design..

This Week On VH1 Sober House, Steve Adler Scares Us

Steven Adler VH1 Sober House

Ex-Guns n’ Roses Drummer Steven Adler Is Scaring the Crap Out of Us

Things were looking bleak for former Guns n’ Roses drummer Steven Adler when he was a patient on Dr. Drew’s VH1 reality-detox show Celebrity Rehab … and then we caught the first two episodes of its intense sequel, Sober House. The series, as the title suggests, is supposed to track addicts coping with the return to semi-independent living in a group home free of drugs and alcohol. So far the entire show has been devoted to watching the guy who played drums on Appetite for Destruction sink deeper and deeper into holy crap territory - he entered the house with needles and a package of heroin, left to sober up, and returned more wasted than ever.

Video clip and more after the jump..

And they're right.

Deadmau5 & Kaskade’s ‘Move For Me’ Video

News

Kaskade

Ultra Records have just released the official video for Deadmau5 and Kaskade’s ‘Move For Me’ hit from last summer - the single was the first track to be taken from Kaskade’s studio album ‘Strobelight Seduction’.

It’s certaainly unusual for a record label to release a video for a track seven months after the album was released but presumably ‘Move For Me’ is gaining mainstream popularity, at least enough to garner a polished MTV friendly video.

Love Parade Canceled Again

News

No Love Parade

No Love.. Parade

There will be no Love Parade this year. The event, which was to be held in the German city of Bochum, has been cancelled due to, yup... again, local issues. It's not exactly the first time the organisation is encountering such obstacles...

After 2006's edition, the once legendary event was forced to relocate from Berlin to Dortmund, attracting over 1,6 million ravers at its 2007 event. The Love Parade was supposed to be held again this year after a long running history of political issues, but the city of Bochum has announced that it is unable to cope with the expected amount of visitors. As a result, the Love Parade organisation has decided to blow the whole event off rather than to look for an alternative location. A spokesman has announced that there will be a Love Parade in 2010.
