Damon Albarn has revealed he will be making another Gorillaz album.
Despite saying last year that the virtual group had had its day, the former Blur frontman has now said he and partner Jamie Hewlett were working on new material for the follow-up to 2005’s Demon Days.
He told the Daily Star: “We’re doing another Gorillaz record. We’re not entirely certain what it will be like. We generally just go with our gut instinct.”
Although a release date has as yet been unconfirmed, Albarn confirmed he had musical ideas he could not express in his The Good, The Bad And The Queen and Monkey projects.
He added: “We came back from summer holidays and realised we could do exactly what we wanted to do with Gorillaz.”

LA neo-tribalists embark on first U.S. tour thoughout October with experimental psych-poppers Gangi; Touring with Gang Gang Dance and Growing in November
Only in existence since March of 2008, Echo Park's Rainbow Arabia is a viable contender for breakout band of 2009 with so much accomplished in just a matter of months. Rainbow Arabia, consists of couple Danny & Tiffany Preston who have married American experimental dance music with a heavy dose of Middle Eastern influence. With growling synthesizers, Arabic guitar riffing, a mixture of drum machines and live percussion, and Tiffany's strangely palatable call-to-war vocals, Rainbow Arabia fuses the dancable sounds of electro and world music with the youthful energy of punk.
Recently they released the acclaimed, much-talked about The Basta EP; attracted the attention of UK's Merok Records (The Teenagers, Crystal Castles) who will be releasing it overseas; shared the stage with acts such as These Are Powers, Megapuss, Hecuba, Warpaint, Ariel Pink, and many more; and are gearing up to tour the U.S. with LA via Brooklyn peers Gangi, as well as with The Social Registry's Gang Gang Dance and Growing.
Currently, they are recording their first full-length for Manimal Vinyl which is due early 2009.
K.i.D CuDi’s music can only be described as the next level of music in our generation and for generations to come. Cudi (originally from Cleveland, Ohio, but spent the last 3 years living in Brooklyn) fuses alternative rock, hip hop and occasionally R & B, to form feel good and emotionally conscious records. His content is filled with witty explanations about himself and his lifes journeys, with a twist of story telling scenerios. His first single “Day N Nite” is nothing more than a conscious awareness record about his faults and how he deals with them. “I’m sure everyone has been in at least one or two of the scenerios I mentioned in “Day N Night”. It was a record designed to let the people out there know—hey, we all have issues. But there’s ways to get through and there’s always a brighter day ahead filled with answers to the toughest situations; we all get lonely sometimes, its life.” With every record, especially “Day N Nite”, CuDi vows to put his heart into each record, so after hearing each song you can feel like you actually know him. “People like records they can relate to, even if you can’t relate to something I speak about, you’ll at least understand my mind, I won’t lose anyone. Even if they haven’t walked in my shoes, they’ll feel me for me.”
It might not all be for you but the Day 'N' Night track is pretty dope. Check 'em tonight at Cinespace.
