Dim Mak Tuesdays tonight with Live performances from Walter Meego, Public. Walter Meego, a duo made up of Justin Sconza and Colin Yarck come to prove that their delicious body jackin beats are just the begining from them. Public's remix of Lil Wayne's single 'Lolipop' is worthy of some heavy bump'n, grind'n and pet'n on the dancefloor.
On the decks Prince Klassen our boy from the good state of Texas has made his mark in Austin spinning everything from underground hip hop, glitch, pop, electro, drum 'n' bass and just about everything in between. Let's welcome him to LA and see how he does it Texas style. ..Oh and don't forget your residents Steve Aoki, Them Jeans and Dan Oh!
Early arrival is strongly suggested! Complimentary Vodka Cocktails from 10pm -11pm. Live Photography from the CobraSnake and all sorts of debauchery.
Justice does it again with 'DVNO' off their latest E.P. 'DVNO' Directed by So-Me & Machine Molle. A very cool video for sure. According to member Xavier de Rosnay, "DVNO" stands for "Divino." de Rosnay states, "In every suburb of the world, in every city, there's always a nightclub called El Divino... Clubs where you have to wear a white shirt to get in.
Whatever the hell that means, we still like the track and the video so hee it goes..
Damn, this video from Justice for 'STRESS' directed by Romain Gavras is massively destructive. Havn't seen anythign like this since ...well since we were up to no good.
Without doubt, one of the best mags out there, especially for LA peeps is BPM. For years.. make it 12 now, we've been dished up whats hot in music, art, style, and culture by the curators over at BPM. Now in there 12 year you don't even have to shell out for the mag anymore, it's digital version is nearly as good print, and free! How they manage to pull it all off, we don't know, but what we do know is they know how to throw a party!
Every Summer some of the world's best DJs and performers come together to celebrate the birthday of the premiere dance and nightflife magazine, BPM. This year is no different...
55DSL presents BPM MAGAZINE'S 12TH ANNIVERSARY in association with Kid Robot, Rubber Duck & Sparks. On the main stage this year's lineup includes a live performance by the legendary 2 LIVE CREW joined by DJ performances by none other than Z-TRIP, DJ AM, TROUBLEMAKER and THE BLOODY BEETROOTS who can also be seen the following Saturday at Hard Summer Music Festival (more details on that shortly). As if that wasn't enough, upstairs in the Spider Club it only gets better with GUNS N BOMBS, Italian imports CONGOROCK, THEM JEANS and DJ FASHEN.
This all takes place Wednesday July 16, 2008 at Avalon from 9pm to 2am. And as always, it's completely free! Just RSVP right away at rsvp @ wiredla.com
Hahaha.. ok well maybe not that kinda weird, just a bit more awesome. Tonight Zombie Nation is gonna tear the place up along with Steve Aoki, Them Jeans, Morse Code, and Dan Oh.
