Get lost in the flowMusic production gear Native Instrument have announced the release of their very own integral production tool titled Maschine. The software is said include a number of features that make beat creation and arrangement 'more immediate and tactile than ever before'. The system incorporates a sampler and an advanced software sequencer with an integrated performance controller and is to be used in computer-based studio setups. The controller has been designed to make it feel like a real-life instrument, incorporating 16 illuminating pressure-sensitive drum pads, eight rotary encoders and a very user-friendly interface that lets you access the many functions without going through endless sub menus. Next to that, the hardware is compatible with any other MIDI-based instrument thanks to an included MIDI mapping application and support of the MCU protocol for sophisticated DAW control... The software includes a plethora of essential standard production features such as beat slicing, auto sample mapping, note repeat and much more. Obviously, the tool comes with a variety of effects to be used on separate channels and the master to give your track just that little bit extra. The arsenal of Maschine provides hundreds of drum kits, synthesizer sounds and acoustic instruments, with around ten thousand individual sounds overall. All kits, instruments, samples and effects can be efficiently managed and located through a highly convenient browser that uses categories and concise metadata. We're very curious to see what the boys at NI have come up with. So far, Maschine doesn't seem to differ that much from any other production pack, but only road testing the tool will provide a clear answer... Maschine will be made available next March at a suggested retail price of $669 / 599 EUR. sources: 365mag.com / nativeinstruments.com |
