Love Parade Canceled Again

There will be no Love Parade this year. The event, which was to be held in the German city of Bochum, has been cancelled due to, yup... again, local issues. It's not exactly the first time the organisation is encountering such obstacles...

After 2006's edition, the once legendary event was forced to relocate from Berlin to Dortmund, attracting over 1,6 million ravers at its 2007 event. The Love Parade was supposed to be held again this year after a long running history of political issues, but the city of Bochum has announced that it is unable to cope with the expected amount of visitors. As a result, the Love Parade organisation has decided to blow the whole event off rather than to look for an alternative location. A spokesman has announced that there will be a Love Parade in 2010.

It's a game of wait and see whether there will be a Love Parade each year or not. We can only hope there will be a brand new Parade next year, as the event could use some good publicity to regain a bit of its lauded status.
