Live Nation Concert Promoter Donates $50k To Save Gay Marriage

Live Nation has donated $50,000 to oppose a proposed ban on gay marriage in California.

The major international concert promoter believes that Proposition 8, which will be voted on in the November 4 California election, takes away individual rights. The company has therefore contributed to the No On Prop. 8 campaign.

“Live Nation has always offered equal rights and benefits to our employees’ same-sex partners,” said Live Nation spokesman John Vlautin in a statement. “It is in this spirit that we have made the decision to donate $50,000 to the No on Prop. 8 campaign.”

Same sex marriage was legalised in the state this year, but Proposition 8 could see the new law overturned.

Apple also recently made major donations to the No On Prop. 8 campaign.
