Next month sees James Zabiela dropping his first ever Masters Series compilation on Renaissance. The long awaited mix has been subject to mounting buzz over the past few months, but we're pretty sure this one will end up among the most appreciated house music comps of 2009...

“I'm delighted to step-up and join the ranks of The Masters Series,” says James, “It's produced some incredible comps over the years and, albeit nervously, am relishing the opportunity of joining its ranks.” And there's plenty of musical delight to look forward to, as James has spread his signature sound across two CD's that compliment each other perfectly. The first disc, titled Down, is what James described as 'audio travelogue': a laid-back collage of electronica mixed with his own 'field recordings' and spoken word. Disc 2, Up, is especially designed for serious clubbing usage and features the hottest house tracks of this moment from the likes of Extrawelt, Modeselektor, and Paul Woolford among many others, as well as two of his own productions: a mix of the much-hyped Dark By Design and his remix of Luke Dzierzek's Perseverance.
