Daft Punk Scores Tron Legacy

Tron Legacy

Daft Punk Score Tron Legacy.

Reports are suggesting that Daft Punk have almost completed the soundtrack to the upcoming Tron Legacy movie. Back in March we reported that Daft Punk's Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo had been signed to write and produce the film's soundtrack, but nothing else had surfaced about the project until last week's Comic-Con event in San Diego. A panel discussion was held during which it was revealed that the duo had already recorded 24 tracks for the soundtrack. The groundbreaking 1982 animation hit was originally scored by electronic music icon Wendy Carlos. At Comic-Con 2009 in San Diego, director Joseph Kasinski revealed, “There would definitely be Daft Punk Tron-themed events on the horizon,” meaning: a Daft Punk tour supporting Tron 2. Awesome!

Check out the video below which features some footage of the Tron Legacy attraction at the convention, including a track which may be one of Daft Punk's new creations, although this is yet to be confirmed.

Tron 2: Legacy isn’t due for release until 2011, but to hold you over we have included the trailer below as well. It speaks for itself.
