Beck Begins DJ Mix Series

Beck DJ Mix

Beck's in the mix.

Artists such as Pharaoh Saunders, Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, Michael Jackson, The Pink Mountaintops, Lee Scratch Perry and MC Paul Barman, are just some of the artists appearing on the inaugural DJ series “Planned Obsolescence”, recently started by psychedelic pop freak Beck.

His first mix "Autobahn Hologram" manages to move from obscure pop via Michael Jackson’s lo-fi demo "Workin' Day and Night” to Pharaoh Saunders avant-garde "Red, Black & Green". Mixes from other guest DJs will follow in the near future.

Beck has been very busy lately, announcing his involvement with the Record Club, a project between musical friends like MGMT, Flaming Lips and himself, as well as a full-length cassette-only cover of Sonic Youth's 1986 album “EVOL” and a collaborative album with French singer and actress Charlotte Gainsbourg.
