Guy Gerber, Supplemental.
Guy Gerber is set to launch his new digital-only Supplemental label, baby sister of his Supplemental Facts Records with an unmixed compilation entitled You Never Walk Alone.
Titled You Never Walk Alone, the release will contain previously unreleased tracks from Supplement Facts regulars David K, Varoslav and Gerber himself, as well as the fresh faces of Dyed Soundorom, Yakine, Alex Dee, Okain and Yosa. Look forward to the "DJ friendly, dance floor oriented output" that Supplemental will be releasing for it's digital shoppers.
Supplemental says "The advantages of a digital label imprint will enable the SFR & ‘supplemental’ crew to give more artists a platform and especially to establish relationships with more newcomer artists. The musical direction of ‘supplemental’ will be related to SFR; there will be an increase in DJ friendly/ dance floor related releases. ‘supplemental’ is aspiring not to limit its repertoire to present trend genres, but to reach out for experimental and fun projects." |

Dimitri From Paris presents Nightdubbin'.
What a score. If you've even a slight interest in disco and this compilation doesn't quicken your pulse, you should consider getting a pacemaker. Dmitri From Paris selects two discs worth of essential '80s disco dub mixes, the Idjut Boys transform them into a disc-long meltdown, and Francois K, Paul Simpson and John Morales lay out an extended liner-notes backstory. Nightdubbin' sounds so current it almost feels belated—it's about damn time, you want to say, that someone traces where contemporary cosmic disco derives some of its experimental attitudes and psychedelic intensities.

Twitter Co-Founder Offers Twitter Tips for Musicians, Bands & Artists.
Twitter co-founder Biz Stone offers his advice on how bands, artists, and musicians can best take advantage of the Twitter explosion:
1. Make Your @username Your Calling Card
Attracting followers is an important part of maintaining a high profile on Twitter. One of its biggest advantages is the simplicity of its username system and the ease of following and communicating with a user once you know how he or she identifies him- or herself. So promoting your @username in an e-mail signature, in fan correspondence and anywhere you'd normally mention a Web presence is helpful. (Sean Combs walks around wearing a black T-shirt with white text that says "@iamdiddy.") Also, interacting with fans through Replies (where you reply directly to the tweets of fans and followers) displays a certain level of engagement that can be attractive to folks considering following your account.
2. Twitter Spontaneously
Unlike an artist's blog or other online presence, where it makes some sense to share only the most important news or entertaining posts, on Twitter waiting for something really important isn't necessary—if folks are following you, then they want to know anything and everything. Twitter is an easy, lightweight way for artists to get involved themselves, and most artists are in fact Twittering themselves—so these anytime tweets have a very immediate and authentic voice that can be a powerful tool from a promotional perspective. |

Deadmau5 to play the Apple Store..
..Well not exactly. Incase you missed the buzz, Deadmau5 was supposed to play last night at the apple store in Santa Monica but the gig was shut down before it could begin. The sea of people waiting to get in was just too much for the Santa Monica Promenade and the police pulled the plug on the mau5. As always our friend Rukes has the best photos of the adventures.

Dopplereffekt live in Los Angeles.
Scion House Party Presents Dopplereffekt in their first US live performance! Dopplereffekt are one of the strangest and most mysterious units of the contemporary electronic music scene. There are no interviews and hardly any live appearances. Nobody really knows who they are, and their releases have so far only been available on limited vinyl. The composers hide behind strange German pseudonyms whereas the song titles and lyrics are in English and make up a strange mixture of scientific, sexually explicit and political allusions.
Dopplereffekt’s music is also highly eclectic and unusual. Even if at first sight the forefathers Kraftwerk seem to be more than present Dopplereffekt have developed a very own and highly influential sound aesthetic, without which the current electro-hype seems to be unthinkable.
Early arrival is suggested as space is limited. Entry is not guaranteed.

King Britt at Melodic.
King Britt at Melodic this Wednesday. King Britt says of himself, "Well, bios are funny because they tell the story of the past of who you are in the present. I try to only live in the present and the future (as I said, try). Even though beginning my career in 1990 on the now legendary house label Strictly Rhythm as E- Culture, being Silkworm in the groundbreaking, Grammy winning Digable Planets, starting Ovum Recordings with Josh Wink, producing platinum remixes for Macy Gray, Solange, Donna Lewis and hundreds of others, winning the highest grant in the country as the first dj/producer, The Pew Fellowship or starting my empire, FiveSixMedia, I still try to live in the NOW and not the then.
So of course, now, I am a father, fiance', musicologist of sorts and media revolutionary. My label and company FiveSixMedia, set the example of an individual who is able to live outside the box and show what freedom truly is. Doing my own thing on my own time and assisting other to move into that space as well."
